Monument record MDO8005 - Late Iron Age Occupation; Priests Way Caravan Park, Herston, Swanage

Evidence for possible Late Iron Age Occupation was excavated at Priests Way Caravan Park, Herston, Swanage during 1931 and 1973-4. This comprised two pits containing late Iron Age pottery and shale discs excavated in 1931 and 600 sherds of Late Iron Age- Early Romano-British pottery excavated in 1973-4. The two sites lie approximately 100m apart suggesting low intensity occupation over a wide area.
