Summary

A bowl barrow on a south-facing slope. In 1970 this monument was recorded as around 50 feet in diameter with a mound about 2 feet high. The barrow is visible as a very low slightly elliptical earthwork 16m by 13m on current Environment Agency lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.

Full Description

SY 69459518. A bowl barrow. Diameter 17 paces. Height 2ft. Information from RCHM. <1>

SY 69449518. A cairn, many of the flints from it being scattered over a wide area of a grass field. Diameter 16.0m; height 0.6m.<2>

Auth 2 correct though the feature is grass covered and has the appearance of a bowl barrow in contrast to cairns built entirely of stone. <3>

SY 69459518. Bowl barrow, 50 ft diameter and 2ft high, situated 200 yds west of Wolfeton Clump. <4>

Ploughed down barrow 18.4m in diameter and 0.3m high. Revised at 1:2500 on MSD. <6>
