Summary

A Bronze Age bowl barrow. In 1970 the monument was recorded as being some 40 feet in diameter and two and a half feet high. There are signs of earlier digging in the centre. The barrow is visible as a sub-circular 25m in diameter, slightly flattened on the east side, earthwork on current Environment Agency lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.

Full Description

B & C. Two bowl barrows. Average 15 1/2 paces in diameter, 1ft high. <2>

'B' and 'C', bowl barrows, both much ploughed down. Average diameters 14.0m; average heights 0.2m. The field within which these bowl barrows and the cairns are situated is now grass covered. <3>

Tumuli (B & C) no longer exist and have been deleted from field document. <4>

`C' - SY 68049607. Bowl barrow, 40ft diameter and 2.5ft high before ploughing situated 53 yds SSW of `B'. The centre has been dug into. <6>

All three barrows have been ploughed out. <7>
