Full Description
A. Cairn on arable land 1953. 16 paces in diameter, 2ft high. (Listed as a bowl barrow) <2>
'A' - A flinty mound 15.0m in diameter and 0.5m high. The field within which these bowl barrows and the cairns are situated is now grass covered. 'A' is probably better termed a bowl barrow, than a 'cairn', being a mixture of earth with flints. <3>
Tumuli shown as extant. <4>
'A' - SY 67999618. Bowl barrow, about 25ft diameter and 1.5ft high before ploughing. <5>
All three barrows have been ploughed out. <6>
The barrow is visible as a sub-circular 25m in diameter earthwork on current Environment Agency lidar imagery, slightly flattened on the east side by a modern fenceline. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project. <8>
