Full Description

(ST 65650152) Hut circle or possible mound. <1>

The remains of a hut-circle and some other sinkings occur on Weam Common Hill, immediately south of the bank shown on the OS map. <2>

ST 65620153 A scooped depression which seems to have been cut into a disused lynchet on the lip of a very steep S slope. The hollow has an overall diameter of 10.0m and is 0.5m deep. It is almost circular with an entrance or gap 2.7m wide in the SE. The interior, 7.0m in diameter, rises slightly towards the centre. There is no sign of any bank around the depression. It is possibly a hut circle but it is so sharply defined as to suggest a later work or an excavated hut. The bank shown on the OS plan <2> is a probably post medieval feature. Surveyed at 1:2500. <3>
