Summary

Bowl Barrow diameter 37 feet, height 4½ feet. Excavated in centre and across east-west axis. The barrow is visible as an earthwork on lidar imagery of 2010.

Full Description

'A' - Ditched bowl barrow, 13.0m diameter and 1.5m high covered with fern and heather and a depression on the top. The surrounding ditch averages 2.5m wide and 0.3m deep in the northern half; the ditch is faint in the south and south-east quadrants. <2>

'A' - (51) - SY 79109214. Ditched bowl, 37ft diameter and 4½ ft high, excavated in centre and across east-west axis. <3> <4>

'A' SY 79099214, diameter 12.5m. Height 2.2m. The ditch has been destroyed by forestry work. Re-surveyed at 1.2500 on MSD. <5>

The barrow is visible as an earthwork on lidar imagery of 2010. It is sub-circular in shape and measures 12 m in diameter. <7> This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
