The post-holes for a Bronze Age round house with a diameter of 6.5m were excavated during work on the new beech avenue in February 1989. The southern half of the round house was excavated together with the porch and south-east entrance. The seven post-holes measured between 0.2m – 0.3m dia. and 0.1 – 0.5m deep. A single piece of Bronze Age pottery was found in one of the post-holes. They lay beneath a Romano-British ploughsoil (Papworth 1992,66).
