βAt ST95820284 a group of post-holes were excavated: the average size of these was 0.3 m dia. and 0.3 m deep. They formed the plan of a round house 6.5 m in diameter with a porch on the south-east side. Pottery from one of the post holes indicated a Bronze Age date.β

The post-holes for a Bronze Age round house with a diameter of 6.5m were excavated during work on the new beech avenue in February 1989. The southern half of the round house was excavated together with the porch and south-east entrance. The seven post-holes measured between 0.2m β 0.3m dia. and 0.1 β 0.5m deep. A single piece of Bronze Age pottery was found in one of the post-holes. They lay beneath a Romano-British ploughsoil (Papworth 1992,66).
