Summary

Early medieval pottery was recovered from layers lying above and in the top filling of three shallow ditches observed and recorded during construction of the Purbeck to Southampton Pipeline in 1989. The pottery was of 12th to 13th-century date and thought to be similar to material recovered from a probable kiln site in Purbeck.
