Summary

Crop marks visible on an aerial photograph taken by John Boyden in 1973, and tentatively interpreted as a circular enclosure. This feature is situated within an extensive field system of Iron Age/Romano-British date, and may be associated with it. The site was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cern and Piddle AIM Project.

Full Description

SY 82449805. Crop-mark of ? circular enclosure (this feature falls within the area of an extensive IA/RB field system and may be associated with it). <1>

Nothing visible on the ground, which is under arable. The cropmark is not visible on OS air photographs.<2>

The site was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cern and Piddle AIM Project. It is approximately 50m across and appears to be defined by two parallel ditches along its northern side and by a bank along its western side.
