Full Description

ST 837033. Remains of the former village of Clenston, now ploughed out, lay on the W bank of the Winterborne. They comprised four rectangular closes, 50yds long and up to 35yds wide, bounded by low banks.

Contour stip lynchets, remains of the three field system of Winterborne Clenston, lie on both sides of the Winterborne valley around ST 834033 and ST 840032. They consist of low risers with flat strips, bounded by banks, and are almost all damaged by ploughing. <1-2>
