Full Description
A series of parallel and perpendicular banked field boundaries are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery across serveral modern fields between Mappowder vilage and Mappowder Court. The features cover an area of 12ha; they were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project and considered likely to be the remains of enclosed medieval strip fields. The boundaries are associated with the ridge and furrow cultivation marks described in records MDO49520 and MDO49521. 1)
