Full Description
Fragments of a rectilinear banked field system are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs on the west side of Higher Burton Down, Piddlehinton. The features cover an area of over 4.5 hectares, they have since been levelled. The field boundaries are on a slightly different alignment to a prehistoric field system which appears to underlie these features, they are therefore considered likely to be of Roman or later origin. The site was digitally recorded during the Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project. <1>
