An old chalk pit is marked on the OS 1st edition map to the east of King Grove Down, Piddletrenthide. It is one of a seven hollows visible on lidar imagery within the two adjacent modern fields which were digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project. [1-2]
