Summary

An extensive scatter of over 60 small hollows is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery in the southwest corner of Piddletrenthide parish. The features are scattered across several modern fields to the north of Heaves Farm and are considered likely to be the sites of post medieval chalk pits; they were digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project.

Full Description

An extensive scatter of over 60 small hollows is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery in the southwest corner of Piddletrenthide parish. The features are scattered across several modern fields to the north of Heaves Farm and are considered likely to be the sites of post medieval chalk pits; they were digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project.
