Full Description
A series of banked linears are visible as low earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery running along the slope on the north side of Little Puddle Bottom, Piddlehinton. The features appear to underly the field boundaries described in MDO48981 and are therefore considered likely to be strip lynchets of medieval origin. The features are situated within an area of less well defined cultivation marks that might be part of a former medieval strip field, only visible on 1940s aerial photographs, now ploughed out. They were digitally recorded during the Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project. <1-2>
