Full Description
The extensive remains of an Iron Age or Roman field system are visible as cropmarks and low earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery to either side of the dry valley running westwards from Muston Manor, Piddlehinton. The features cover an area of over 97 hectares and are considered likely to be an extension of the field system described in MDO48954. The field system was digitally recorded during the Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project, at its eastern end the field system underlies the medieval cultivation marks described in MD1893. <1-3>
