Full Description
Several curvilinear ditched features to the north of Forston Higher Farm, Charminster, are visible as soilmarks on aerial photographs (NMR 1976). Together the features appear to form part of a possible curvilinear enclosure, the ditches enclosing an area around 100m by 90m, open on the north side, with an additional ditched linear extending east from the main group. The features are potentially later prehistoric in origin, perhaps field boundaries or a partial enclosure of Iron Age to Roman date. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.
