Summary
A sub-circular mound in a field to the north of Forston Higher Farm, Charminster, is visible as an earthwork on current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature could possibly be a Bronze Age bowl barrow but, being within a later prehistoric field system, it could alternatively be part of a ploughed out field boundary of potentially Iron Age/Roman origin. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.

Full Description
A sub-circular mound in a field to the north of Forston Higher Farm, Charminster, is visible as an earthwork on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The feature could possibly be a Bronze Age bowl barrow but, being within a later prehistoric field system, it could alternatively be part of a ploughed out field boundary of potentially Iron Age/Roman origin. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.
