A post medieval chalk pit on Charlton Higher Down, Charminster, is visible as an earthwork on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The feature is recorded as an old chalk pit on the OS 1st Edition map. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.
