Monument record MDO48903 - Prehistorc field system, Druce Higher Barn, Puddletown

The remains of an Iron Age or Romano British field system are visible as cropmarks and earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery to the west of the farm track running southwards from Druce Higher Barn, Puddletown. The features cover an area of over 157 hectares and are a continuation of that to the east of the track described in MDO4890, it appears to have been reused in the medieval period with parallel cultivation marks visible as earthworks at SY 7437 9713. These features form part of a wider field system described in MDO1911 and were digitally recorded during the Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.
