Full Description
The remains of an Iron Age or Romano British field system are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs and earthworks on lidar imagery to the east of Whitecombe Hill, Cheselbourne. The features extend into Piddletrenthide parish and cover an area of over 62 hectares, they continue into MDO48883 to the west and are an extension of the wider field system described in MDO1911. The features were digitally recorded during the Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.<1-2>
