Monument record MDO48884 - Later prehistoric ring ditch, Forston, Charminster

A partial sub-circular ring ditch in a field to the west of Forston, Charminster, is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs. The feature could possibly be the outer ditch associated with a Bronze Age round barrow or alternatively part of a hut circle of potentially Bronze Age/Iron Age date. The feature is located 100m northwest of a possible later prehistoric enclosure MDO48882 and within part of a later prehistoric field system MDO789. It is also located 130m northeast of two possible Bronze Age barrowsd MDO48871 and MDO48873. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.
