Full Description
Fragments of a banked field system are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery to the south of Cowards Farm, Cheselbourne <1>. Some of the boundaries may have constructed in the Iron Age or Roman period but others appear to be medieval in origin, possibly relating to the later reuse of an earlier prehistoric system of fields. The features cover an area of 19 hectares and were digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project.
