Summary

The fragmented remains of a rectilinear banked field system are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery to the south of Birch Lane and west of Long Lane, Puddletown. The features cover an area of over 30 hectares and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project. The features form part of a larger field system which is likely to be be medieval or post medieval but may have earlier origins; it extends to the east in MDO48616.

The fragmented remains of a rectilinear banked field system are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery to the south of Birch Lane and west of Long Lane, Puddletown <1>. The features cover an area of over 30 hectares and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project. The features form part of a larger field system which is likely to be be medieval or post medieval but may have earlier origins; it extends to the east in MDO48616.
