Summary

An extensive medieval banked field system, with remains of associated cultivation marks, is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery to the southwest of Dewlish Village extending into Dewlish Park and Shailes Copse. The features cover an area of over 36 hectares and are a continuation of the field system described in MDO981 . The site was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project.

Full Description

An extensive medieval banked field system, with remains of associated cultivation marks, is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery to the southwest of Dewlish Village extending into Dewlish Park and Shailes Copse <1>. The features cover an area of over 36 hectaresand are a continuation of the field system described in MDO981 . The site was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project.
