Monument record MDO48483 - Post medieval extractive pits, Tolpuddle

A Clay Pit and associated buildings are marked on the OS 1st edition map at Tolpuddle to the east of West Barn. The pit is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project. It is one of a wide scatter of hollows which cover an area of over 24 hectares extending in to Warren Hill where Gravel Pits and a Sand Pit are also marked on the 1st edition map.
