Summary

A low mound to the west of St Catherine's Farm, Cerne Abbas, is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature is considered to possibly be a Bronze Age barrow. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.

Full Description

A low mound to the west of St Catherine's Farm, Cerne Abbas, is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery [1, 2]. The feature is approximately 25m in diameter and is located just east of two other similar features within the same field and under 100m southwest of a row of possible Bronze Age bowl barrows. It
is considered to also be a possible Bronze Age barrow and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.
