Summary

An area of possible medieval strip lynchets on Mead Bottom to the southwest of Cerne Abbas is visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features meet with features associated with a later prehistoric field system to the north and west (MDO734). They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.

An area of possible medieval strip lynchets on Mead Bottom to the southwest of Cerne Abbas is visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery [1, 2]. The features meet with features associated with a later prehistoric field system to the north and west (MDO734). They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.
