Full Description
A series of sinuous and closely set narrow banked lynchets on the lower south side of Giants Hill, Cerne Abbas, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery [1, 2]. The features are probably lynchets of medieval origin, although they do run up to and into a later prehistoric field system of probable Iron Age to Roman date on their northwest side. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.
