Summary

Extensive remains of later prehistoric fields on the high ground encircling Yelcombe Bottom, Cerne Abbas, are visible as banked earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery. The field system is probably of Iron Age to Roman origin and includes features recorded under MDO742. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.

Extensive remains of later prehistoric fields on the high ground encircling Yelcombe Bottom, Cerne Abbas, are visible as banked earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The field system is probably of Iron Age to Roman origin and includes features recorded under MDO742. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.
