A sub-circular ring ditch on Higher Mound, Piddletrenthide is visible as a cropmark on a 1995 aerial photograph. The feature is considered to possibly be the outer ditch of a Bronze Age round barrow and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.

Full Description

A sub-circular ring ditch on Higher Mound, Piddletrenthide is visible as a cropmark on a 1995 aerial photograph [1]. The feature is just over 16.5m in diameter with the ditch up to 2m wide, and is considered to possibly be the outer ditch of a Bronze Age round barrow. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.
