Summary

Two areas of ridged and ditched cultivation to the northwest of Piddletrenthide are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are considered to be medieval broad ridge and furrow. The features within a field to the south of Ash Bed Coppice appear to extend across this area. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.

Full Description

Two areas of ridged and ditched cultivation to the northwest of Piddletrenthide are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The features are considered to be medieval broad ridge and furrow. The features within a field to the south of Ash Bed Coppice appear to extend across this area. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.
