Summary

Banked curvilinear features to the northwest of Alton Pancras are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are considered likely to be strip lynchets of probable medieval origin, possibly part of the former open field of Alton Pancras, recorded under MDO77. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.

Banked curvilinear features to the northwest of Alton Pancras are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are considered likely to be strip lynchets of probable medieval origin, possibly part of the former open field of Alton Pancras, recorded under MDO77. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.
