Full Description
Linear banked features in a field to the south of Henley, Buckland Newton, are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The features comprise short sections of linear banks on a southwest to northeast alignment, possibly forming a series of partial rectilinear enclosures. Two longer perpendicular banks head south south east from these, the features potentially demarcating a T-shaped section of a possible trackway. The features might be field boundaries/trackways of medieval to post medieval date, or perhaps an area of shrunken medieval settlement. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.
