Summary

An unannotated hollow is marked on the OS post war mapping. It is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and is considered likely to be a post medieval extractive pit, possibly for chalk. Several others are situated to the north west, they were digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project.

An unannotated hollow is marked on the OS post war mapping (1). It is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery (2) and is considered likely to be a post medieval extractive pit, possibly for chalk. Several others are situated to the north west, they were digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project.
