They are considered likely to be post medieval extractive pits, possibly for chalk, and were digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project.

Five hollows are visible as cropmarks and earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery to the west of Longthorns, Milborne Andrew (1-2). They are considered likely to be post medieval extractive pits, possibly for chalk, and were digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project.
