Full Description
Banked linear features to the north of Henley, Buckland Newton, are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The features comprise parallel linear banks forming a series of narrow regular strips that align with a historic field boundary shown on the OS 1st Edition map. Two further linear banks that sub-divide and align with current fields are also visible. The features are considered to possibly be field boundaries of potentially medieval origin, although a post-medieval date is also possible. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.
