Summary

A rectilinear ditched enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1976 in the field to the northeast of The Rings, Milborne St Andrew. It is considered likely to be Iron Age or Roman in date and possibly contemporary with the enclosures described in MDO48217. The site was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project.

Full Description

A rectilinear ditched enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1976 in the field to the northeast of The Rings, Milborne St Andrew (1). It is 42m by 37m across with traces of a conjoined enclosure on its south side. The site is considered likely to be Iron Age or Roman in date and possibly contemporary with the enclosures described in MDO48217; it was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project.
