Summary

A series of ditched enclosures and field boundaries are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1976 in the field to the northeast of The Rings, Milborne St Andrew. They are considered likely to be Iron Age or Roman in date and probably contemporary with the settlement remains described in MDO4358. The site was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project.

Full Description

A series of ditched enclosures and field boundaries are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1976 in the field to the northeast of The Rings, Milborne St Andrew (1). The features include parts of two large rectilinear enclosures, probably fields, and a smaller polygonal enclosure (39m by 35m) with a possible entrance on it's northern side. They are considered likely to be Iron Age or Roman in date and probably contemporary with the settlement remains described in MDO4358. The site was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project.
