Summary

The probable site of a plough-levelled Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a cropmark ring ditch on aerial photographs. The site was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project. It is a southern outlier to a large cluster of ring-ditches which are interpreted as the probable remains of a Bronze Age round barrow cemetery.

Full Description

The probable site of a plough-levelled Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a cropmark ring ditch 14m across on aerial photographs taken in 1976 (1). The site was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project. It is a southern outlier to a large cluster of ring-ditches which are interpreted as the probable remains of a Bronze Age round barrow cemetery.
