Summary

Banked and ditched linear features to the south of Cosmore, Buckland Newton, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are considered likely to be field boundaries of possible medieval to post medieval date, although a later prehistoric origin is also possible. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.

Full Description

Banked and ditched linear features to the south of Cosmore, Buckland Newton, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery [1, 2]. The features are considered likely to be field boundaries of possible medieval to post medieval date, although a later prehistoric origin is also possible. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.
