Summary

Areas of ridged and ditched cultivation to the northeast of Minterne Magna are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are considered likely to be medieval broad ridge and furrow and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.

Full Description

Areas of ridged and ditched cultivation to the northeast of Minterne Magna are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1, 2]. The features are considered likely to be medieval broad ridge and furrow and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project. Some of the features are no longer visible on lidar imagery.
