Monument record MDO48164 - Possible medieval lynchets, Minterne House, Minterne Magna

Banked curvilinear features within the ornamental gardens of Minterne House, Minterne Magna, are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are considered likely to be medieval lynchets. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.

Banked curvilinear features within the ornamental gardens of Minterne House, Minterne Magna, are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery [1, 2]. The features are considered to be medieval lynchets. Some of the features are visible beyond the tree line on a 1947 aerial photograph [3]. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.
