Summary

Banked and ditched linear features to the southeast of Lane Cottages, Minterne Magna, are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar and Next Perspectives APGB imagery. The features link into a small stream or sluice shown on the OS 1st Edition map and are considered likely to be part of a post medieval drainage system. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.

Full Description

Banked and ditched linear features to the southeast of Lane Cottages, Minterne Magna, are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar and Next Perspectives APGB imagery [1, 2]. The features link into a small stream or sluice shown on the OS 1st Edition map and are considered likely to be part of a post medieval drainage system. The features are clearly visible on 2009 Google Earth imagery [3]. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.
