Full Description
Irregular linear and sub circular hollow features on the southeast side of Giant Hill, Cerne Abbas, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are recorded as chalk pits on the OS 1st Edition map, along with a lime kiln, which is still visible as a rectilinear structure on a 1947 aerial photograph. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.
