Monument record MDO48028 - Post medieval chalk pits, Higher Dogbury Down, Minterne Magna, Buckland Newton

A series of sub circular hollow features close to Higher Dogbury Down, within Minterne Magna and Buckland Newton parishes, are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery. One of the features is recorded on the OS 1st Edition map as an old chalk pit and the remaining features are also considered to be chalk pits of post medieval origin. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.
