Monument record MDO48022 - Post medieval chalk pit, Lower Sheep Down, Minterne Magna

A sub circular hollow feature on Lower Sheep Down to the southwest of Minterne Magna is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature is recorded on the OS 1st Edition map as an old chalk pit and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.
