Monument record MDO47482 - Ring ditch, Milborne St Andrew

The probable site of a plough-levelled Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a cropmark double-concentric ring ditch on aerial photographs. The site was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cern and Piddle AIM Project.

Area SY 808970. Large group of twelve or more ring-ditches visible as crop-marks. <1>

Nothing visible on the ground. <2>

A rapid examination of air photography suggests the presence of another possible round barrow site, visible as a ring ditch cropmark at SY 8060 9688. <3>

The probable site of a plough-levelled Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a cropmark double-concentric ring ditch on aerial photographs <5-6>. The inner ring is 9.5m across, and the outer is 22m. The site was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cern and Piddle AIM Project.
