Full Description

SY 825 969 (FCE) A rapid examination of air photography (1a) suggests the presence of a group of short linear features, possibly forming an enclosure, of Unknown date, visible as cropmarks on the hillspur northeast of Haywards Farm. <1>

The possible site of a rectilinear ditched enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (1.1) and was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cern and Piddle AIM Project. The enclosure is 35m by 31m is size and on a similar alignment to (and therefore probably contemporary with) the wider Iron Age/Roman field system within which it is located.
