Summary

Cropmarks of a possible prehistoric or Roman field system with lynchets. Bank and ditched linear features are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs and low earthworks on lidar imagery. They are of uncertain date and were digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cern and Piddle AIM Project.

Full Description

SY 757 994 (FCE) A rapid examination of air photography suggests the presence of probable lynchets, visible as cropmarks on the slopes of a valley between New Barn and Cheselbourne. The features may be of Prehistoric or Roman date. <1>

Bank and ditched linear features are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs and low earthworks on lidar imagery <1.1 and 3>. They are of uncertain date and were digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cern and Piddle AIM Project.
